PreCups Privacy Policy

PreCups ("we", "us", "our") provides a digital stored-value wallet app that independent coffee shops ("Shops") offer to their customers ("Members") and use with their own staff. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the PreCups app and website, how it's used, and who it's shared with.

Information we collect

• Phone number — used to verify your identity via a one-time SMS/WhatsApp code, and as your login for the app.
• Name and birthday — optional, provided by you to personalise your profile.
• Wallet and transaction data — your balance, top-ups, and purchases at the Shop(s) you're a member of.
• Push notification token — used to send you notifications (e.g. a charge request to approve, or a profile update request from your Shop).
• Shop account information — if you run or work at a coffee shop, we collect your shop's name, address, email, ABN, and billing details to operate your PreCups subscription.

We do not collect payment card details directly — card payments are processed by Stripe (see below).

How we use this information

• To operate your wallet: track your balance, process top-ups and purchases, and let you approve charges with Face ID/Touch ID.
• To verify your identity and keep your account secure.
• To send you transactional notifications (charge approvals, receipts, profile update requests).
• To operate shop subscriptions and billing for coffee shops using PreCups.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Data separation between shops

Each coffee shop using PreCups has its own independent, private database. Your wallet, balance, and purchase history at one Shop are never visible to another Shop.

Third parties we use

• Twilio — sends SMS/WhatsApp verification codes and notifications.
• Stripe — processes shop subscription payments. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to any payment details you provide directly to Stripe.
• Expo — delivers push notifications to your device.

We share only the minimum information each of these providers needs to perform their service, and we do not permit them to use your information for their own purposes.

Data retention

We retain your account and transaction data for as long as your account is active with a Shop, and for a reasonable period afterwards as required for record-keeping, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us at the email below. You can edit your name, birthday, and phone number directly in the app under "My profile".

Children's privacy

PreCups is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
